Useful tips for chronic neck and frozen shoulder syndromeChronic neck and pain are the conditions which may be caused by different factors, which may vary from trauma to injuries to the postural issues. For some people maybe long and painful process therefore it is important to know whom to contact and what to do to prevent further deterioration. In some cases, home exercise program learned from your physiotherapist or simple yoga stretching might be a solution. For other with more complicated issues visiting family doctor or your physiotherapist for treatment might be more helpful. Samples of home exercise program.
The following exercises are specifically designed to reduce tension in the muscles of the neck along with restoration o proper posture. Forward bend- Chin to chest. Bend your neck approaching your chin to your chest as close as possible. Interlock your fingers behind your head. Now try to straighten your neck while resisting your hands. Hold 10 sec Bend your neck backwards. Place your hands on your forehead. Now try to push your head forward while resisting your hands. Hold 10 sec
Looking straight ahead , bend your head toward your left shoulder as your left hand pulls your right arm down and cross your lower back. Alternate by bending your head towards your right shoulder while pulling on your left arm. 15 sec each side.
This exercise is similar to (3) except in this case you turn your head as far as possible to the left while pulling down on your right arm. Alternate for the other side. 15 seconds each side
Gentle swing your neck side to side. 20 repetitions
